MMPL Now Part of GMMOS Group

GMMOS subsidiary Stanford Asia has acquired 100% of the share capital of Minnow Marine Projects Ltd (MMPL). The MMPL fleet including newbuildings under construction numbers four PSVs plus six multi-role utility vessels.

Siem Plus One

Siem Offshore has effectively grown their fleet by one unit due to a current charterer exercising a purchase option which has in turn been offset with the order of two newbuilds.
Veolia Environment has declared their purchase option on the 2007 built 'Siem Swordfish' (MT6016L). The MRSV is part way through a 5 year charter which commenced on delivery from yard and ownership will not be transferred until this charter completes in 2012. Purchase price was approximately USD 61m.
Siem's Brazilian subsidiary Siem Consub SA has also recently ordered two large PSV09CD PSVs with STX Europe's Brazilian yard. Delivery is scheduled for 2Q 2012 and 2Q 2013.

Mermaid Aquires PSV and Secures Term Charter

Mermaid Marine Australia has purchased a newbuilding 70m DP2 PSV which is scheduled for delivery mid December from the Jingjiang Nanyang Shipyard. Mermaid have also received an LOI from one of their existing clients Geokinetics for an 18 month charter for the ship. Commencement is likely to be during April 2010 once the ship has been modified for the charter.

Third and Final Aquanos Newbuild Sold

The Bergen Group has announced the sale of the Hull 164 to Island Offshore. The unit is a large DP3 MPDSV originally ordered by Aquanos Offshore in 2007 as the 'Aquanos Enforcer'. Due to the current market conditions Aquanos has been forced to recently sell all three of its subsea newbuilding projects. The MPDSV 'Aquanos Endurer' went to Mermaid offshore earlier this year whilst the MPRSV 'Aquanos Enabler' was recently sold to Tidewater.

Deep Sea Supply Orders in Brazil

Highlighting the current buzz surrounding the offshore market in Brazil, Deep Sea Supply are the latest owner to target this area in a more localised manner. The company has established a Brazilian subsidiary 'Deep Sea Supply Navegacao Maritima Ltda' and has also placed an order for a large PSV 09CD unit at the STX shipyard in Rio no doubt aiming to capitilise on Petrobras' preference to charter locally owned locally built tonnage. The 4700dwt newbuilding is scheduled for delivery early 2012.

Trico Releases Two

Trico Marine has announced the sale of two undisclosed North Sea class vessels to undisclosed Asian buyers. Total sales price is reportedly close to USD 40 million. Further details to come here.....

Rieber Lands Sea4 Ships in NOK 800m Deal

GC Rieber Shipping has finally come to an agreement with Sea4 and acquired it's subsidiary companies Sea4 I Shipping Ltd & Sea4 II Shipping Ltd. Sea4 I and Sea4 II each have a ST254L CD 110m IMR ship under construction at Freire Shipyard, Spain. Deliveries are scheduled for 2H 2010 and 1H 2011.
